One can learn from psychology, communication, languages, physics, electronics, computer and many other things.

PowerShell, finally a real terminal on Windows

PowerShell, finally a real terminal on Windows

The command line is my good friend. Admittedly, it’s a time saver for us programmers and that using a mouse is not always the most effective way of doing things. Working hard on Linux, I enjoy efficient, configurable, scalable and programmable terminals. To me, this was not possible under Windows; but that was before I knew PowerShell.

Cakephp 3, what's new

Cakephp 3, what's new

CakePHP is an MVC framework written in PHP. It was created 10 years ago in 2005 and is still updated and used by many. It takes it’s inspiration in many Ruby on Rails concepts. The third major version of the framework is at the time being still under development as a release candidate. It uses PHP 5’s namespaces and objects model and comes with a full PSR-2 integration, so you can use it even more easily.

Three year a dev

Three year a dev

Here I stand, about 3 years as a professional programmer. I’ve been programming for more than 10 years, learning by myself most of what I know today. I really don’t know what i would be doing if I didn’t end up here.

What I realised over the years, and it’s even more obvious when your going pro, is that you have to never stop learning otherwise you’re dead.

Google recaptcha, how to use it.

Google recaptcha, how to use it.

You probably already know about captcha, if not, it’s the piece of characters and numbers that you get in some forms. It’s meant to be a security so robots could not automatically fill forms. But robots got betters at reading them, so developpers generated stronger captcha harder to read even as human.

When you start your Ubuntu post, the keypad lock is enabled by default, it’s very convenient when you have a laptop with a keyboard without the numeric keypad, but when you have a computer with a keyboard 112 keys and it can become annoying. Write your documents with LaTeX

Write your documents with LaTeX

And no, this article has nothing to do with the sap of the hevea. This is a programming language for generating structured documents. It was created by Leslie Lamport in 1983 as an evolution of the TeX language widely used in science.

It is a language that I use to write all my documents. This allows to produce structured documents and separate tools for word processing. These tools have complex procedures, primarily related to the use of the mouse, which greatly slow the time of drafting a document.
